How long have you been teaching /  teaching at St Joseph’s?

2017 has been my very first year teaching. I graduated in December 2016 and was very blessed to get a job straight away at St Joseph’s.

Why did you want to become a teacher?

I have always wanted to be a teacher. Ever since I was 5 it has been my dream job.

What's it like working with students at the age level you teach?

Working with Year 5 & 6 students is great. I love the independence I am able to give them and the ownership they start taking over their learning. I love being able to have a joke and a laugh with this age group and also get into some deep thinking discussions.

What do you think sets St Joseph's apart from other schools?

St Joseph’s has a wonderful spirit about the whole school. You can see it in the students and in the staff and in the relationships within the school. Everyone in the school is a big family and you are immediately welcomed into this family.

What do you like to do when you're not teaching?

When I am not teaching you will find me relaxing with my family and my dog. Most weekends I am entertaining around the region with my band Route 66. And if I am not doing either of those my class will tell you I am not opposed to the odd game of Minecraft.
